Altceva \u00eens\u0103 ar putea fi absurd, de pild\u0103 s\u0103 ui\u0163i c\u0103 e vorba de tine \u00eensu\u0163i \u015fi de modul aparte \u00een care ai reg\u0103sit o asemenea \u00eentrebare, a\u015fa cum ai sim\u0163it tu \u00eensu\u0163i aceast\u0103 nevoie. Sau, eventual, s\u0103 vrei o rezolvare definitiv\u0103 a \u00eentreb\u0103rii tale. Nu vreau s\u0103 spun c\u0103 ea apare neap\u0103rat chinuitoare, obosindu-te asemeni unei obsesii sau unei boli prelungite, ci doar c\u0103 nu st\u0103 \u00een puterea ta s\u0103 o sco\u0163i imediat din joc.<br \/>\nExist\u0103 \u015fi alte situa\u0163ii \u00een care a te \u00eentreba cu privire la un posibil sens nu e absurd. A\u015fa se \u00eent\u00e2mpl\u0103 atunci c\u00e2nd \u00eentrebarea nu a\u015fteapt\u0103 un r\u0103spuns, o clarificare sigur\u0103, ci ea vine s\u0103 trezeasc\u0103 o stare de spirit. De pild\u0103, c\u00e2nd face activ\u0103 credin\u0163a \u00een ceva anume, o speran\u0163\u0103 sau o form\u0103 de r\u0103bdare. Ceva asem\u0103n\u0103tor se petrece \u015fi \u00eentr-o alt\u0103 situa\u0163ie, c\u00e2nd \u00eentrebarea cunoa\u015fte un sens speculativ, \u00een sensul vechi al cuv\u00e2ntului(2). Aprofundat\u0103 ca atare, ea poate s\u0103 spun\u0103 ceva semnificativ cu privire la cel care \u00eentreab\u0103. Poate, de exemplu, s\u0103 te lase a vedea cu mai mult\u0103 claritate limitele voin\u0163ei \u015fi ale \u00een\u0163elegerii proprii. Sau faptul c\u0103 lumea de care vorbe\u015fti este propria ta lume, iar eul pe care \u00eel afirmi \u2013 o limit\u0103 inefabil\u0103 a acestei lumi.<br \/>\nRevin acum la cea dint\u00e2i situa\u0163ie. Nu ai cum s\u0103 r\u0103spunzi la o astfel de \u00eentrebare \u00een mod obi\u015fnuit sau \u00een mod tehnic. Nu s-ar putea spune, de pild\u0103, c\u0103 sensul existen\u0163ei ar fi existen\u0163a \u00eens\u0103\u015fi. Nici c\u0103 ar fi ceva din afara ei, dincolo de ea. Imediat s-ar aduce obiec\u0163iunea c\u0103 se \u00eencalc\u0103 o cerin\u0163\u0103 logic\u0103 elementar\u0103: fie termenul din r\u0103spuns s-ar confunda cu cel din \u00eentrebare, fie apare lipsit de semnifica\u0163ie (\u201edincolo\u201c). \u00cen unele cazuri, termenii r\u0103spunsului s-ar situa \u00een afara seriei logice acceptate, exact ca atunci c\u00e2nd ne-am \u00eentreba: \u201epe ce lucru se sprijin\u0103 toate lucrurile?\u201c Un r\u0103spuns la astfel de \u00eentreb\u0103ri s-ar contrazice singur, entitatea numit\u0103 \u00een r\u0103spuns fiind deja presupus\u0103 \u00een \u00eentrebare(3). \u00cens\u0103 nu s-ar accepta nici r\u0103spunsurile indirecte, speculative (\u201esensul existen\u0163ei \u00eenseamn\u0103 s\u0103-\u0163i pui problema acestui sens\u201c). Nu s-ar putea r\u0103spunde \u00een niciun fel, \u00eentruc\u00e2t, pentru modul obi\u015fnuit de a g\u00e2ndi sau pentru cel tehnic, \u00eentrebarea e formulat\u0103 \u00een mod absurd.<br \/>\nA\u015f spune un singur lucru \u00een leg\u0103tur\u0103 cu aceast\u0103 cerin\u0163\u0103 logic\u0103. Ea este corect\u0103, oric\u00e2nd de luat \u00een seam\u0103. Numai c\u0103 \u00eentrebarea cu privire la un posibil sens al existen\u0163ei nu e deloc o \u00eentrebare obi\u015fnuit\u0103 sau tehnic\u0103. Dac\u0103 totu\u015fi am socoti-o astfel, \u00een graba judec\u0103\u0163ii, ea ne-ar ap\u0103rea sigur absurd\u0103.<br \/>\nAvea dreptate Wittgenstein, \u00een anii tinere\u0163ii sale, s\u0103 disting\u0103 sever \u00eentre diferite categorii de probleme. Severitatea e vizibil\u0103, de exemplu, \u00een acest minunat fragment: \u201eC\u0103ci \u00eendoiala poate exista doar acolo unde exist\u0103 o \u00eentrebare; o \u00eentrebare doar acolo unde exist\u0103 un r\u0103spuns; iar acesta doar acolo unde se poate spune ceva\u201c (Tractatus logico-philosophicus, \u00a7 6.51, traducere de Mircea Dumitru \u015fi Mircea Flonta, 2001). Avea s\u0103 afirme c\u0103 p\u00e2n\u0103 \u015fi atunci c\u00e2nd am avea r\u0103spunsuri la toate problemele \u015ftiin\u0163ifice, problemele noastre de via\u0163\u0103 ar r\u0103m\u00e2ne pe mai departe neatinse (\u00a7 6.52). Ar r\u0103m\u00e2ne f\u0103r\u0103 \u00eentreb\u0103ri clare \u015fi f\u0103r\u0103 r\u0103spunsuri sigure. Cum se spune acolo, \u201e\u00een acest caz nu mai r\u0103m\u00e2ne nici o \u00eentrebare; \u015fi tocmai acesta este r\u0103spunsul\u201c. Nu mai r\u0103m\u00e2ne nici o \u00eentrebare \u00eentruc\u00e2t, a\u015fa cum \u00een\u0163eleg eu acum, astfel de probleme nu se traduc \u00een \u00eentreb\u0103ri bine determinate logic. Nu se ivesc spre a fi traduse astfel.
